Alien, soldier, brother, god...Tuyouk has many identities and bears the weight of many expectations. An Ahman-tahki warrior disguised as human, he is on a mission to protect his people's half-human descendants in a dimension near Earth. The only thing he wants, however, is to be the husband of Ayana, a magical shaman from an estranged clan. Unfortunately, Ayana wants nothing to do with him.The dimension where they live is divided into two territories. The Kimsavis rule the wilderness, and the evil empress Belall rules the city. When Tuyouk's half-brother Danny, goes there to save a young friend, Ayana accompanies him. Tuyouk cannot stand idly by while the two people he loves most attempt a potentially dangerous rescue, so he volunteers his help whether they want it or not. The problem is that Belall has been nurturing a virulent hatred of Tuyouk for centuries. He feels somewhat safe at being in her territory because she knew him as an eight-foot tall armored warrior. On the other hand, Ayana doesn't know what his true form looks like, and he doesn't want her to know. His biggest fear is that Belall will expose the fact that his Fire Clan warrior persona is a fiction, and that he is, in fact, the being Ayana worships as the Black God.
