A fabulous collection

The author divides Greek wisdom into: Virtues, God, Humanity, Learning, Arts and Sciences, and The State. Some of my favorites: "Danger gleams like sunshine to a brave man's eyes." "Cowards do not count in battle; the are there, but not in it." "Would you rather be the victor at the Olympic games or the announcer of the victor?" "Lying is meanness and truth bravery."
