True Self enquiry May 23 2009

The Way of Knowledge By Paul Long ( Santa Rosa, North Bay, California ) The Way of Knowledge is replete with Wisdom! Cee speaks clearly about what is required for one to attain Enlightenment according to Advaita Vedanta as taught by Sri Ramana Maharshi. Her pages are filled with logical explanations that anyone can follow on how to investigate and arrive at lasting Peace and Happiness through Self enquire. I find The Way of Knowledge to be extremely effective in comparison to some other noted Spiritual authors for whom I respect and also appreciate. This concisely written book is not for those who long for flowering words that conjure up images of fantasy or entertainment. It is written in a straightforward manner always guiding the reader back to him/her Self. It also contains useful reflections, Pondering Points that encourages one to use this material as a constant guide toward Awakening. The Way of Knowledge is for anyone who questions the purpose and meaning of life and is seeking a direct means of attaining Freedom. I am very grateful I found this book. Recommended Highly by this avid reader of dozens of Spiritual teachings on Self Enquire, Advaita and non duality. It ranks with the best of the best in content! Truly a must for Sincere seekers. Paul Long

Learn self-inquiry

Cee lives in Hana, Maui, Hawaii. Previously her home was in Berkeley, California. Cee has given retreats in both locations over that last several years. The purpose of this book is to instruct you on how to find out the truth of your existence through the practice of inquiry. Cee's teaching, whether encountered through this book or her retreats, is formal, focused, deep, and persistent. It is grounded in and inspired by Advaita Vedanta and the teachings of Ramana Maharshi and Master Nome. The book covers pre-inquiry considerations: the nature of Advaita, nonduality, and enlightenment; the sense of your existence; the nature of oneness, searching, and happiness. Cee then instructs on inquiry without compromise; how to inquire until every iota, every vestige of identity is eliminated: "You cannot hold on to your identity and inspect it at the same time. The ego is not going to come out triumphant. An earnest aspirant will diligently root out the actual ideas that make up his or her persona, inspect them thoroughly and understand the illusory nature of ego." I like the couple dozen text boxes which feature Ponder Points. Each one is an invitation to a kind of inquiry, or an invitation to deepen inquiry. The first Ponder Point is, "Take five minutes to simply feel your existence, whatever that means to you. If you start to think about it, return to simply feeling." The Points evolve, but they need to be read in context. Cee talks about the deep dream state, and the spaces between waking and sleeping, all in the context of inquiry. Cee recommends inquiry in the dream state: "The practice of inquiry in the dream state allows you to understand in the dream that the dream identity and the dream world are simply an illusion. Earlier we said that the dream state is just as real as the waking state. Yes, both are an illusory mental play: mind stuff. Spiritual practice in the waking state will confirm that everything born of mind is an illusion. Ponder and practice until this is understood with certainty. When one stops believing illusion to be reality, the Real becomes so joyfully apparent. The sacred inquiry brings your reality back to what is eternal, unchanging, ever-present, and most familiar. This is real Existence." The Way of Knowledge is a concise, committed, and full guide to self-inquiry, recommended for anyone engaging this practice. Jerry Katz
