The Hobo Philosopher

I have been doing a good deal of reading on World War II. Walter Lippmann is often touted as one of the great journalists of the period. But it seems that 50% of the time Lippmann was wrong or misguided. In consequence I was reluctant to try I.F. Stone, thinking that journalist living and writing within their time are wrong as often as they are right. So why bother? But I. F. Stone is historically correct as far as my reading goes. In fact, if I had to pick out something wrong in this book, I would have no comment. This is just plain good history. I have just ordered two more of Mr. Stone's works. "The Truman Years" and "the Hidden History of the Korean War." This journalist did his research. When he asks a question it is of historical significance. He labels himself as a non-conformist and others label him as a radical. From what I have read he was a great journalist and he must be considered a truth seeker.
