Powerful exploration of vodou at metaphysical level.

After reading this superb metaphysical exploration of vodou you will understand how multidimensional and sophisticated this religion is. Everything is there for those who want to take the acquired knowledge further and become spiritual masters. Dr Crosley did an excellent job dispelling the stigma and myths while linking vodou to all major religions and modern science.

Good Book

Reginald Crowsley Does an wonderful job on making the correlation between Quantam Physics Dark Matter and The Ancesteral Realm of the LWA. Although Crowsley seems to speak from a Christain point of view at times his upbring in the Vodou tradition gives him the credibility to speak on the subject. Most scholars only reseach objectively which limits the understanding. Crowsley makes a point that the Dark Matter Entities no matter how powerful they may be are still dependant on us to exist.

Educational!

This book is infused with so much hard science it makes the rest of the book difficult to argue with. It makes a wonderful case for understanding Vodou as a valid and noteworthy religion, rather than a freak of Hollywood. The author makes sure to give history and politics, cultural references and enough background as to help the outsider have a better look INSIDE a rich and vibrant culture, to see how to view Vodou in a whole new light, and with a healthy dose of respect. It offers alternate ideas on some phenomena that remain unexplained in other areas as well. There are some story accounts in it that seem to fantastic to be true, but taken with a grain of salt, I find the rest to be credibly informative. I've given this book as gifts to others, I've enjoyed it so much. I recommend it highly. I am a huge fan of anthropologist Wade Davis and his enthnographies as well as Maya Deren's book, "Divine Horsemen." Dr. Crosley's book sits next to them in my library.

An Interesting Book, Good Primer on Vodou

Reginald Crosley's book has an interesting thesis, which is that the world of the Vodou loas (or Voudon, as he names them) is actually a real world, a parallel universe, which is the same universe as the world of "dark matter" explored by particle physicists. Crosley's technique for advancing this argument is to explain first the findings of particle physics and the strange behavior of subatomic particles, their fuzzy relationship to time and space, and the existence of dark matter, and then to explain the world of Vodou. He then assumes the two worlds are the same world, while offering no evidence that this is the case. It is a clever act of sophistry. But nevertheless the book is intriguing, offering a good explanation of the findings of particle physicists, as well as an excellent history of the creation of the religion of Haiti and the "gods" of its pantheon. He gives an excellent, and somewhat disturbing account of "adorcism", the crisis of possession that people attending Vodou ceremonies experience at the hands of the various Voudons, and a good overview of the relationship between the various sects of Vodou, both "good" and "bad". If you are looking for a good overview of the Vodou religion, this book contains it. The book is always interesting, and is a neat hypothesis, even if his case is not compelling. I enjoyed the book immensely.

A fine survey of quantum physics & Afro-Haitian mysticism.

Reginald Crosley's Vodou Quantum Leap draws some important connections between alternate realities and mysticism. It's unusual to find a discussion of Afro-Haitian spirituality, modern science and East/West spirituality written by a doctor: this provides a fine survey of quantum physics, mysticism and spiritual worlds.
