Two children, Margery and Peter, in 19th century Britain are startled by the appearance of a strange looking youth in their home. Stephen is a prince of Anglo-Saxon in the ninth century, and in the midst of cruel torture, finds himself faced by two inquisitive children from another time. Stephen entertains Margery and Stephen with stories and the children grow to love him and look forward to his "visits". This is a moving tale of love and honor, and I consider myself lucky to have found it in a used bookstore.

I read this as a teen. I have been looking for it for along time. Once you read this book you never forget it. Im glad I found the book again. Im going to order and read it all over again. I'm going to let my son read it and I know he will love it as much as I do.
