When I first drafted this book there was a ghost in it. However, at the time, Harlequin was just getting ready to launch a paranormal series AND my choice was to either edit out the ghost or sell it as a paranormal romance. Thus, the ghost became a madman dressed as the Mad Monk and this villian haunted and played dangerous tricks on the abby's housequests--the young ladies the party were to be surveyed by the titled heir and one was to be his bride. The parlor games which eventually lead to a treasure hunt were just plain FUN to write. This is a romp mixed with a mystery AND a real treasure hunt. The Virgin's Heart--titled for the blood-red ruby stone and the heroine's once broken heart--remains a favorite of the books I've written. Hope you enjoy it! C.H.--a great fan of Georgette Heyer
