Usborne - Awesome Books

Love Usborne books. Use them to teach Art class to elementary students. Love the fact that you can link to a website, in the class, and use as a teaching tool. Best books out there!

A fantastic first Art History book!

I give this book 5 stars all the way-- it's a wonderful first Art History book. The descriptions are thorough but understandable at an elementary level, making it perfect as an introduction to art history for middle to upper elementary students (or ages 6 to 12), and the pictures are great quality (the pages are glossy). It's plenty meaty too, and includes a glossary of artists and a separate glossary of terms. This is a book I plan to keep for a long time and it will occupy a place on my "keeper" bookshelf.

Fantastic Book - And finally I appreciate art!

I got this book from the library for my three homeschooled kids (9, 9, and 11). I am not art savvy at all but now I love art and so do my kids. This book is so fun to read to my kids and we're learning about symbolism, history and art techniques all at the same time. We have other Usborne books but this is by the best. We like it so much that I'm planning to buy our own copy.

A Wonderful Introduction

This book is a wonderful introduction to art history. The full-colored photographs are magnificent and the way that the book is set up, it's entertaining and addicting to read. If you own the Usborne Internet-linked Introduction to Modern Art (Usborne Internet Linked), then you might recognize some of the same pages towards the end of this book. No worries, however, because there is a lot of fresh coverage over much earlier works. If you love this book, I'd recommend purchasing the Usborne Introduction to Modern Art. If you don't love this book, then you don't love art history.

Love this one

A great book with all sort of info and pictures of famous works of art. Great intro for kids. Great for a homeschooling family. :) Heather mama of 5
