interesting

I have liked using this book with my 7th grade part-time home-schooled son. It's much more interesting than the school science text on related subjects. The pictures are especially great; probably much prettier than looking at the real thing through a microscope. I would prefer to use a microscope; but since we don't own one, this has been a good visual and informational resource.
This Is The Book.

This book is by far the best microscope book ever. The book has more information than any other microscope book I have seen, and I have seen many! But an added bonus is the book can be further helpful if you have Internet access. On the internet more information can be obtained, making the book even greater. BUY IT, if you want the best microsope book on the market.
First purchase of many Microscope books

As I am buying my son his first microscope at age 11, I purchased 5 books to help this investment have the documentation to use it to its fullest. I find this book very good, but a little advanced for my son at this time. While it explains many tools to use with the microscope, it does not show how to make them yourself. I very much like the links it provides for future referance as my son's knowledge and experience progresses. In my son's case, it will take much parental help with this book to fully understand and gain from this book.
A great book for child scientists

Since Usborne books are geared for children, not professionals, it is written exactly the way it should be. My kids' classmates were fascinated with the pictures. The fifth graders were just starting to use microscopes and this book really whet their appetites. They went on to find more microscope books and information.
