Unofficial Guide toTransformers 1980s to 1990s is great!

The Unofficial Guide to Transformers 1980s to 1990s is a great book! This book maily talks about the early Transformers toys from the 1980s and 1990s. J. E. Alverz talks through the history of the Transformers when they were early Japanese Mircoman and Diaclone toys. The book has many pictures of the toys, comics, videos, and other old Transformers memorabilia. J. E. Alverz is a good writer. He tells you everthing you need to now about Transformers toys in America. He also writes about Beast Wars: Transformers toys and The Japanese Transformers figures! Buy it! Highy Recommended! J. E. Alverz writes a great Transformes coffee table book! A+

I love GoBots

You want to know what the "E." in Jose E. Avlarez stands for? It stands for "erogenous." Erogenous because of the pure pleasure that Jose Alvarez's book gives me each time I hold it's opulent pages in my hands. I've dumped my girlfriend to allow me more access...and a deeper relationship with my one and only "Unofficial Guide to Transformers: 1980's Through 1990s" bible. If you could only understand the connection here. Man...and book. Paper...and flesh. Melded together in a loving relationship that most humans can not possibly understand. Yes...you could say I fell in love that day. That day I first glimpsed a longing glimpse of Jose Alvarez's book on the rack. Blue pages. Bold red print. Thick Thick binding. The book would have had me at Hello if it had the power to speak. And this comes from the Writer of "The Unofficial Guide to GoBots: 1980's through 1990's" Yes I, Buster Aught, defender of the GoBots legacy has seen the light. I will no longer champion the rise of the mighty GoBot and hold a light for the true king of ex-childhood joygazims...the Transfomer. Jose Alvarez, I salute you. You are a champion of health from your feet to your ankels. Now you must excuse me. All this talk of my love has me yearning for quiet time with my baby book I've now named "Wendy."

A classic that you must have to complete your collection

Growing up in the 80's, it seemed everyone knew what transformers were. Boys had them and their sisters played with them. However, how much do people really know about this supposedly, universally-known line of toys? This book really intrigued me and captured my interest with every fresh turn to a crisp new page of transformer enlightenment. As Edgar Allan Poe once explained, only great authors can communicate to their reader a new wealth of knowledge, all in one-sitting. I acknowledge J.E. Alvarez's compliance to this definition and I commend his successful ability in conveying the reason transformers are now a collectors item. I highly recommend this unique and informative book to any intellectual whose personal library is a collection of classics of all time.

A very under estimated book...

Well I finaly got my copy of this book and I wasn't dissapointed. It's about time someone put together a book about the greatest toyline of the 1980s. I cant see why anyone would trash this book because it really is a very useful guide especially for me since I dont have many of the toys themselves. Maybe some people dont like it but all my friends do and they all collect Transformers. There are a few toys missing like the Action Masters, but then again they dont really Transform... This book has been very helpful for me. I recomend getting it because everyone just needs this around for a quick reference to when something came out or how something looks! : )

Great Book!

This book is great. You not only get to see TF toys but you get a history of the toys as well. The pictures have good clean images and allow you to see variations easily on the toys. Toward the back you get to see some "neat things" like some japanese figures and other TF stuff. Great book and a great buy!
