My copy of this book is so old, the pages are yellow and frayed and it's falling apart. But, I faithfully taped this book up and keep it on my shelf. I will never forget this book, and for as long as I can see straight I will always read it at least once a month, just because I love it so much.I absolutely adore this book, it makes me cry. And, for a Harlequin that is less then 60k in words it really hit home. Daniel and Rachael are happily married with three children. Their life is that of a young couple fully involved in the joy and angst of raising a family. One day Rachael receives a call telling her Daniel has been unfaithful. As a devoted wife and mother, she is devasted and heartbroken. But, can she end their marriage and end their love. My word! This book is so good. I was crying, laughing and steaming through every word. You experience the inside of the relationship from Daniel's prospective and Rachael's prospective. This is a wonderful book during the age where Harley books were great. Now they're just copykats, but don't let that diminish the glory of this novel. Find this at the library, buy it used...do what you have to find this book.
Somewhat depressing

From the back: A marriage in crisis..."I never meant to do it..she was just there when I need someone..." Rachel and Daniel had three adorable children and a strong marriage - or so Rachel had always believed. But her happy life was shattered when she was told that Daniel had been having an affair. Then she realized that they'd been growing apart for years. Rachel wanted so much to save her marriage - but was it too late? Could she ever forgive Daniel, if he had committed the ultimate betrayal? This was definitely a great, heart-wrenching work by Michelle Reid. I gave it only 4 stars, though, because it really was a bit too sad a look at marriage for me. In other Reid novels, there is a big passionate separation, followed by a big passionate reunion. In this novel, there is a slow, depressing separation followed by a slow, painful reunion. When everything is revealed in the end, I found myself thinking "What the he--!" All that drama for nothing! Not my favorite Reid.

I second the reader from Singapore.I have this book in my keeper shelf and when i moved to California from Fiji I brought about a thousand books with me (we were allowed only 2 pieces of luggage as soon as I landed I went clothes shopping) and 35 of these books are by Michelle Reid. She is a SUPERB AUTHOR.
Heartache aplenty

Rachel had been told that her husband had been having an affair. Much as he liked to deny it, Daniel, for reasons of his own, could not. Although Rachel insisted that he leave her the house and their three children, Daniel adamantly refused. He adored his kids and was still very much in love with his wife. To save their marriage, he was determined to take whatever punishment she chose to dish him and slowly win back her love and trust. Could it be that it's too late, for Rachel now had an admirer....Could she ever forgive him? This is one of Reid's best. A tearjerker in some parts, the story describes very credible circumstances and explores such depth of emotion! It had me rooting for Rachel and Daniel in turn. I could not put the book down and read it in one sitting. I'm sure I'll enjoy a re-read sometime.
