Funny with a light romance. Great read.

This is the first Sophie Kinsella book I have read. I was drawn to it by the main character's initial job. The author has the frantic pace of contract negotiations spot on. I, too, did that job for over twenty years and have chucked it for the life of a real domestic goddess (just ask my husband!) While I did have some of the basics down, for the most part I had to learn or relearn a lot of the things that Samantha does in this book. Funny, funny, funny. I kept laughing out loud while I was reading - so much so my DH has nabbed the book for his next read. I will certainly be purchasing more of Ms. Kinsella's books in very short order. It is always wonderful to find a new author to enjoy.

A Fun, Easy Book to Read...

This book is about a woman who abandoned her entire life, to re-create herself and find new happiness. The book follows the main character while she pretends to know how to be maid...even though she has no idea how to cook or clean. A romance blossoms, and the writing surrounding it is very descriptive, which makes you want to breeze through the book. This is a great way to dive into Kinsella's writing. This book will have you laughing out loud, and blushing at the same time. Good read!

Good job, Sophie!

I was hooked on the Shopaholic series, but even though this is a departure from that, I would highly recommend it. Samantha finds herself being mistaken for a maid and ends up just going with it. Seems a bit unbelievable at first, but the Kinsella-logic of the situation and the humor make this a great story. I can't read enough of all the chick lit about love and work. Speaking of that, I just read another really entertaining book by newcomer Tracie Clayton. To Love and To Work follows Roberta Rubin from a consuming corporate job to a very unlikely new career and, of course, a new boyfriend.

Chick lit at its hysterical best!!!

I loved all of Sophie Kinsella's other books and I couldn't wait to tear into this one! I was not disappointed. This book was witty, fun and utterly addictive....it begs to be read in one sitting....so I did! Samantha Sweeting is a great character, with flaws that all humans possess, who does something that most of us probably wish we could at one point or another. The story was fast-paced, completely hilarious and in some points, sadly accurate. Kinsella's writing style is sparkling - her use of the character's inner monologue in little snippets makes me laugh out loud. I could pictures all of the scenes in this book translating into a fun movie! If you are looking for something light and fun that will keep you laughing, pick up this book or anything else by Sophie Kinsella. I'm just waiting for her next masterpiece!

Great Book

I've read everything Sophie Kinsella has written and this is one of my favorites. I found myself laughing out loud at some points. I can't wait untill her next one comes out.
