Love these books!

This is the perfect book for any dog/animal lover. It provided so many great stories and pictures as well as helped me to understand my own animals and why they do what they do, though I'm still grossed out by some of it. I would recommend this book to any person that cares about their dog and would love a good laugh, it was truly heart warming.

Heartwarming for the Dog Lover

The Ultimate Dog Lover is a treasure of stories, advice and photographs for anyone who loves dogs. It is a book to savor and to read a couple stories at a time, as each is memorable. One story, "Call of the Wild," was so unbelievably amazing that it stretches what I consider credible--but I do believe it to be true. (It involves a pack of wolves...) One warning however: do not read this in public unless you don't mind having others' watch you weep! I read several chapters at Barnes + Noble and gave up, as I kept wiping tears away. Most of the tears are not because the stories are necessarily sad (although some are)they are just emotional and very touching stores. For those of us who love dogs, this book touches the soul. The photographs are wonderful. The final section of the book is called Must know information and contains useful information for dog owners. Give this book to yourself and other dog lovers. Norma Lehmeier Hartie, dog lover and author of the award winning book, HARMONIOUS ENVIRONMENT.

Feel good

What a phenomenal feel good read!! This is the first of the series that I've read and I can't wait to read another.I routinely read at least 1/2 of an easy ready every night.I've had a hard time over the last 6 months, with finding any books that I'd classify as good reads, which would effectually help me escape for a few hours, especially at the end of my usual typical hectic day/schedule. Opened this book last night and I must say, I finished almost the book in its entirety, because, I so enjoyed the heart warming stories as well as the useful facts regarding pet care, which I in turn will use for our families' four dogs. After closing the cover for the night,I felt so good that I literally had to get up and go hug the nearest dog. The stories transcended me into reminiscing about similar experiences I have had over time with my pets. Each story was as good as the first, which made the book a very easy and enjoyable read. Also enjoyed the quality of the pictures/subtitles. When finished, I have to admit that I had a smile on my face and felt the best I've felt in a long time after finishing a book. I literally slept like a puppy that night and didn't stir. I can honestly say that this is a great book for any human being who's ever come in contact with and/or loved a dog. I honestly feel it would make a very nice gift.

A must-read book for all dog lovers!

I've long been a reader and fan of the Pet Connection team, especially after their leadership during the pet food recall last year. Dedicated to the healthy and humane treatment of our canine companions, Gina and Marty are real go-to experts whose advice we can all trust as well-researched and with the best interests of dogs at heart. I'll be stocking up on copies of Ultimate Dog Lover to give to the canine-loving families I come across so often in my work. Thanks to the authors for their steadfast commitment to celebrating animals and confronting cruelty. - Jennifer Fearing, chief economist, The Humane Society of the United States, and co-author (with Liz Palika) of the forthcoming "Dogs at Work: Creating Dog-Friendly Workplaces" (due out Jan 2009)

Paws Up for This Grrrr-eat Book!

I've been a big fan of Dr. Marty Becker and Gina Spadafori for a long time. They are committed to improving the connection between people and pets. If you love dogs, this is a must-read! I give it 5 paws up!
