A Review From a JERSEY GIRL!

True Father is a novel that can be read and enjoyed by a diverse group of people. You need not be just a Cowboy or Rodeo fan to find interest in this book. It goes much deeper. In today's world many boys have grown up never knowing their "True Father". Trevor was given this gift when his uncle came and found him. A gift that came on graduation day from college. The perfect opportunity to find out the truth of the past, so he could effectively move on to his future. What I like most about this novel is that Trevor has an open and willing spirit. He did not let the thought that his father abandoned him get in the way of seeking out the truth and discovering not only who his father was, but he discovered a whole new world, full of people who would grow to love him. Trevor proves that if you really want to know who someone is, you need to enter their world. It was unfortunate that the discovery did not come while his father was still alive. However, it shows us that it is never too late to discover the truth. Things are not always' as they may seem. After all our hopes and dreams have come and gone and our children sift through all we've left behind. May the clues that they discover and the memories they uncover become the light that leads them to the road they each must find. Jettie was a True Father. Perfect FATHER'S DAY or GRADUATION GIFT! and....a very inspiring novel even for a working mom from New Jersey!

A Charmer

Rodeo Summer by Steven Law is a delightfully woven tale full of charm and raw elegance. This character driven piece was a joy to read. It's beautiful in its simplicity and heartfelt in its plot development. I highly recommend Rodeo Summer.

The Road Home

Stephen Law breaths life into the shrinking world of ranches and rodeos in a heartfelt tale of acceptance. College boy, Trevor Hodge, becomes a man in a world foreign to his senses but familiar to his heart. Rodeo Summer touches the soul and tickles the cowboy in each of us. A great read for young and old. Cara Brookins

Great for the Beach

Ironic, right? A story about rodeo life is great for the beach? I live in southern Louisiana and spend my summers on the beach of Grand Isle. I recieved an autographed copy of this book from the man himself and spent one weekend in the warmth of the sun, the smell of the salt, and the coolness of the breeze reading this fabulous book. To have such a fabulous story in your hands with your toes in the sand truly makes you appreciate the things around us. I've always been attracted to the cowboys of this country, and this book made me want to pack my things head to Oklahoma. Maybe one day I will. Thank you Steven Law. It was inspiring and delightful.

A wonderful story

I am an accountant in Tulsa and someone mentioned this book in a casual conversation so I looked it up. I have never been around the rodeo life but since the main character was an accountant I thought I might like it. I more than liked it, I loved it. I was very moved by Trevor's experience and his sudden leap of faith. Having lived in Texas and Oklahoma my whole life the people in this book seemed very real to me. Steven Law writes in a way that brings you into every scene like you are standing right there and hooks you to where you can't put the book down, or put the story out of your head. I only put it down once because I had to go to bed. I finished it the next morning and the story has really stayed with me. I haven't had a book do that to me in a long time. I will certainly recommend this book to others and I hope to one day see it as a movie. I think it would be an awesome film.
