Couldn't Put It Down

Gory, skin crawling, and extremely well written.

Disturbingly stunning

I absolutely loved this book, I did not put it down! When reading I felt as if I were involved in the story myself and felt all emotions the characters felt. Cutter has a fascinating way of describing the mindset and background of the boys in this story and can make you uneasy with the disturbing, perfect detail in a tediously thoughtful way. This book will absolutely keep u locked in and you will continue to think about it after you’ve read it. This was fantastically written and will always be a story I will remember.

Scary gross

Feelings encountered....sick, scared, anger, sadness, gut wrenching. 5 out 5

Horrifying story of survival and the unknown

I very much enjoyed the many similes in this book. Nick Cutter painted a picture in my head with every sentence in this book. Horrified me, made me almost cry, but left its mark. Highly recommend this book. Though I do warn you of animals being harmed in this. But remember, this is only a fictional book. If you can stomach that, i highly recommend it. 👌

Phenomenal read!

I’ve seen hype about this book all over social media and let me tell you it did not disappoint! Disturbing and grotesque with a fascinating and captivating storyline. This book gave me very much Lord of the flies feel. I could not put it down. I’m a die hard horror and sci-fi fan it this gave best of both worlds. The characters are well developed and the authors description of their emotions and psyche during the book provoked an emotional response as the reader. Definitely not for the faint of heart.

This book should be called 'Cringe: a novel'

The premise is what attracted me to this book and it did not disappoint in that regard. The book is well written and creates a sense of dread that is palpable throughout the whole book. So kudos to Cutter on delivering in that aspect. But there were so many instances where I was just cringing due to the violence towards animals and just the overall gross out scenes splayed throughout this whole novel. This is the only book by Cutter I have read so far, and I would read more since I really enjoyed his writing style. But to evoke a sense of "horror" in this book he seemed to rely too heavily on gross out factors for my taste. But I wouldn't say don't read it, it was enjoyable and you might really like it!

The newest Jurassic World movie, scheduled for release in July of 2025, will star Scarlett Johansson as a covert operations expert leading a top-secret mission involving—you guessed it—dinosaurs. We can't wait to see the new movie, but luckily there's plenty of dino-mite literature to enjoy in the meantime.
