I love this book. It is so adorable. It is the story of a tiger and a bear that set out to find Panama after finding a crate marked 'Panama' floating down the river. Of course it is in German, but anyone who has taken a year or two of high school German should be able to understand it.

This book is really cute. It is a great book for beginning Germans (I mean people who are just learning German) to read. I am really glad that Janosh decided to write this book, so that our class should read it. Oh and the rabbit.....he's great!
Charming Little Book

My children loved this book when they were young, so much so that it is now rather worn around the edges. I will definately buy a new edition for my great niece. Lovely book with charming characters.

This is an adorable story about a little bear and a little tiger, who have a cute home but go searching for the greener grass, only to find it back at their own home after a long trip. The story is filled with little details that are so endearing, such as the bear's affinity to fishing, the tiger's repeated assurances that they have nothing to fear (for various reasons), the tiger's care to protect his little tiger-striped duck, etc. My 4-year old son loves this book. The artwork is excellent. This is a classic title, popular since the 80s in Germany.
Panama ist sehr schoen!

I was introduced to this story in my high school German class. Oh wie schoen ist Panama tells the story of two friends: a little tiger and a little bear. The two find a raft that is from Panama and decide that Panama is the land of their dreams. Tiger and Baer set off for Panama, meeting many other animals along the way. This is a great story, especially for children and students of German. Although the storyline is fairly predictable and simple, the illustrations are adorable, especially the Tiger-Ente (tiger-duck). Anyone who enjoys children's books and knows some elementary German will fall in love with Tiger and Baer (just make sure you have a German-English dictionary handy)!
