A Handsome and Comprehensive Book

A very nice piece of work from Thames and Hudson. Square hardback, blue cloth over boards with gold details with a sewn binding. 208 pp, 2 1/2 pounds. Color and b & w illustrations on just about every page: photographs, period prints, and some floorplans. Glossary, Bibliography, and Index. The book begins with a short initial chapter on pre-Columbian and Colonial design, artistic traditions, and materials.
