The special bonds between parents and their children of the opposite sex are explored in this varied and beautifully arranged anthology. A surprising variety of relationships is explored, some special and uplifting, others destructive. All of the poems, stories, and photographs in "The Tie That Binds" reveal the importance of the relationship between fathers and daughters, and mothers and sons, and the way these relationships color our entire lives. In this book, every reader will find that certain story or poem that ignites a spark of recognition or nostalgia. I have read and loved all of the Papier-Mache anthologies, and once again, Sandra Martz has collected a moving and poignant sampling of works which celebrate the joy and the pain of being human.
