A young man believes his sweetheart and her family are the three silliest people in the world until he meets three others who are even sillier. This description may be from another edition of this product.
This is a retelling of the classic folktale about a young man who agrees to marry a young maiden, but only after he had found three people who are sillier than she. Thus he begins a quest that leads him to all sorts of strange places where he meets many silly people. But in the end, the suitor learns that it is he who is the silliest of them all.The illustrations are wonderful and really make the story come alive in a real, but humorous way. I love the cat, he has some of the best lines in the whole book.I loved this book because of the old folktale, but it's still a great story for modern kids. My younger siblings enjoyed the story, even though they called parts of it strange.
