SJA is great!

My first experience of his works were the Marius Mules books- fabulous. This series is quite different,but just as well written. It's full of great characters and locations (the lucky Mr. Turney lives in England, so Europe is not just a dream to him, and his research shows.). I have to admit I was totally surprised by the direction in which this story goes. Skiorious (?) is a fabulous main character, with just enough lack of morals to be a good thief but not enough to be cruel or heartless. His brother,friends,associates and enemies are good characters also. The descriptions of life onboard ship are worth the read on their own. After reading this series I read some history of these times- fascinating.
