Excellent summary of the First Jewish Revolt

Brenda Segal has done an outstanding job of making the times of the First Jewish Revolt against Rome (66AD-73/4AD) come alive in an interesting fashion While her romantic story of a young girl who has a relationship with both Flavius Josephus and Eleazar ben Ya'ir stretches credibility, it does give us easy access to these enigmatic historical personages.Espoecially moving is the depiction of the Battle of Migdal on the Shores of the Sea of Galilee. In light of the recent (1986) discovery of a "Galilee Boat" which plied these waters at that time, this novel is excellent background, especially for the lay reader
