Best Career Guide I have Found!

I absolutely loved this book. I have been searching for a comprehensive book to guide me down the technical writing path, and this is it. A few subject categories include "What is Technical Writing?, "Who Becomes a Technical Writer?," "Choosing a Field (within Technical Writing)," and "A Day in the Life." The book also addresses how to gather information once you are employed to create a good product, how to produce a document, and how to climb the corporate ladder. As a college student trying to choose a career, I would recommend this book to both students and people entering the profession from other fields. This book was written by an authority in the field. Also, it contains valuable appedixes that include professional organization contacts and an extensive and very valuable annotated bibliography. The only downfall of the publication is the relevancy-it was published eight years ago. However, this does not affect most of the information that the book covers. I am hoping that they write a second edition!
