A delightful fantasy in verse for young readers.

In one short week the Strawberry Queen and her loyal subjects are destined to become slaves of Fraise, the dark and deadly Prince, and his evil, gnome-like friend, Shortcake. Robert McConnell's amazingly funny and entertaining story is told entirely in verse. Christine Lott's wonderfully colorful artwork is a perfectly suited to the rhythym and pace of McConell's balladeering style. Highly recommended.
