Popoki is the adventurer in all of us

I am a grown adult. I did not buy this for a child. I've read it more than once. Call me crazy, but it lifts my spirits and reminds me of my own spunky, independent and free-spirited cat, Fenix. Sometimes I get too serious for my own good and need to remember that playful, creative, ambitious and adventurous part of myself that can be utilized in a positive way. I think ultimately this is a good story about connections and relationships. Popoki bonded with Leilani, she took care of him and they were a comfort to each other. When they were separated, there was a sense of loss. Pets often represent a very significant friendship for children and adults alike and I think it's positive to encourage that.

Best EVER for my 6 year old!!!

After a visit to Hawaii and a quick decision to buy one of these at a discount store.... we fell in LOVE with the Popoki books! All three that we have have provided terrific entertainment for my 6, now 7 year old. We loved them so much we bought them again, and donated the series to our elementary school library- they are getting checked out constantly! A "must have" in my book!

One of the best children books ever

My 6 year old simply adores it. We picked it on a trip to Hawaii a few yeas ago and both fell in love with the character. Text and illustrations are superb and vibrant.
