Good premise, but lacks depth

I thought the premise of living space ships that doubled as worlds was really interesting. However, the entire middle section of the novel was such a slog. The journey could’ve been condensed in favor of sharing more about the main character with the reader. Also, the literary device of keeping the Big Secret from the reader (even though it’s written in first person!) felt very cheap in this instance.

Absolutely perfect!

This book is like like a combination of Alice in Wonderland and Hieronymus Bosch's interpretation of hell. With a gripping plot and a great cast of characters. I've read it twice now. And will definitely be reading it again. It's a modern classic!
