Gritty realistic tale of drug smuggling in Florida

The book starts a bit slow in almost a Jack Kerouac "On The Road" rambling style, but this is just setting the scene for lots of action to follow. The reader's perspective changes from one main character to another as the chapters change, and in all cases you're wondering what is going on outside your field of vision. The action takes place mainly in Key West, Coconut Grove, and Miami. Very slick, very smooth, very hard to put down. The drug deal goes down but not in any way you would guess, and what comes afterward is more than you could imagine. I read the book because I live in South Florida; now I'm looking at my neighbors a bit differently...
