A Family Tale

If you enjoy multi-generational stories, you'll love "The Snows". Ms. Moranville examines the Snow family from the perspective of four family members, each beginning at age 16, over a span of more than seventy years. Ms. Moranville creates a moving portrait of life in a small town that shapes the character of four young Iowans. Highly recommend

An Incredible Read!

The Snows is an amazing book that takes the reader from the Depression era to modern times. Each time period is narrated by a different member of the Snow's family and I loved them all. Jim is so kind, Cathy's story is heart-breaking, Jill is brave, and Mona makes the reader appreciate how a family's history shapes a person's life. This is one of those rare books that will appeal to teenagers and adults. This is a perfect choice for a book club!

A Wonderful Read!

THE SNOWS is a wonderfully crafted story that carries the reader through four generations of the Snows family. From the first page, I was drawn to the character of Jim and the powerful relationship he shares with his younger sister, Cathy. Sharelle Byars Moranville's masterful writing swept me along as the Snows travel from the Great Depression to World War II, through the Kent State riots, and to the present time. This book is appropriate for teen and adult readers. If you haven't read it, you're missing an amazing saga.
