Best Titanic Book I've Ever Read!

I really enjoyed this book. The authors descriptions bring the tragedy to life. The idea that the Titanic was on fire before it left England fascinated me. I've read more than 20 books about the Titanic, and I think this one is the best!

amazing!!

I have read this book so many times it is beginning to wear out. I loved it!! It's better than the movie!

A must read for all Titanic Buffs!

This book is an abridged edition of the Logan Marshall volume that was the very first book to roll off the presses after the Titanic sank. Although some of the details are incorrect, most of the facts are true and the first-hand accounts from survivors at the time are fantastic! The coal-fire on the Titanic is discussed in great detail and and many other important facts which have been ignored by more contemporary sources are also illuminated. With 16 pages of 1912 photos and wonderful descriptions, I found this narrative to be a good beginning for all those interested in the saga of the Titanic.

I loved this book..but I read the 1912 edition my Mom has.

This book is chilling because it is written breathlessly by people who lived through the horrors and experienced the shocking news. This was written before television could relay the ghastly details minute by minute. This was how people were informed about this disaster. I'm wondering what this original edition of the book is worth, I found it on my mother's book shelf, it belonged to my great grandfather.

Fascinating collection of testimonials

I own an original copy of this book from 1912 and have read it a number of times over the years. This is the book to read if you are looking for personal accounts of what happened aboard the Titanic. This book provides a fascinating account of the disaster through interviews conducted only weeks after the ship sunk. It's a tough book to put down.
