Absolutely Addicting

I loved this page turner so much, I kept grabbing it even when I only had 2 minutes to read here and there. The writing style is captivating, and anybody who is into dark, psychological thrillers will enjoy this.

Twists and Turns

I loved this book and didn't want to put it down! The characters were all fascinating and I really enjoyed the many twists and turns along the way. Great story!

Fast paced thriller mystery

To me this was a thriller mystery, some could say psychological horror/thriller, depending. I enjoyed every bit of it, it was super easy to read and the chapters being extremely short gave it a fast paced read. The mystery can be predicted, but it doesn’t take away from how fun a read this is.

Best book I've ever read. Ever.

It was a very slow book.

Some chapters weren't necessary and it's a slow plot. The plot twist at the end was good, but overall I was a bit bored with the book until the end.

Wanting More

I felt like this book needed more...? The ending was sudden and I did not see that coming. I read this book quick, which is a good thing, I felt like I needed to find out what was going to happen next. It is a good read, I just felt like something was missing after I read it. Not necessarily a bad thing its just how I feel about it.

Just finished it

I just got done reading 'The Silent Patient' and even though we know who done it in the first chapter, how and why she done it is definitely captivating. At times it seems like we may no figure it out, I was stumped at times and just when I thought I knew why/who I was wrong. Alex done amazing, great light read 10/10 recommend!

Slow but gradual

The story does take a bit to pick up speed but I believe it did build suspense. It was a little confusing at first with how they chose to portray it. I didn’t realize I stayed up reading this until 3am, but after you reach the suspense it takes off.

Simply brilliant

One of the best mystery, psychological thriller books I have read in a while. Very interesting and hard to put down. I finished this book in just two days.

Yearning for more

This book starts out right from the gate of excitement, needing answers. There were foreshadowing hints and twists and then one of the final chapters that leaves you with your jaw on the floor.. this is one of those books I wish I could read again for the first time.

It was better than I expected

I liked the characters, I liked the faults and the weaknesses. The twist was something I didn’t anticipate. I would recommend this book

Page Turner with a Wild Ending!

Started this on Saturday and just finished tonight. Could NOT put it down. The chapters were short and detailed enough, that kept me wanting more. The author did a good job describing each character and their purpose - making the book a page turner, with a wild ending! Did not see that coming!

One of my favorite books

This book is so good. Exactly what you want in a thriller - interesting characters, unpredictable plot twists, and an ending so crazy I actually said “oh my god!” out loud while reading.

One of my favorites

This book keeps you on edge! I finished in three days because I just couldn't put it down. I truly felt like I was living in the story. The details make you feel like you're right there! So many twists to the story but what a plot twist at the end...never expected it!!! I'm definitely going to read another one of Alex's books to see if this is he's style of writing! I absolutely love it!

the first and best book i ever read!!!

I hate reading. I used to be that student that look up summaries of each chapter on sparknotes so that I don't have to read for english class. I HATE READING with a passion. I get bored so fast. But this book.... this book right here changed my whole perspective on books. Now I can't stop reading. This book was so good, i finished it in 2 days. I have a 9-5pm job, and I was able to finish it in 2 days. SO GOOD!

I really enjoyed the twists in this book. You don’t get too awfully involved with the characters, but it’s one of my favorite reads in the past month or so.

This was the only audio book I returned to audible. It started off so well. Interesting premise. I was willing to ignore the twirling mustache secondary characters but the “twist” is not a twist. Its a stupid stunt that does not work.

Amazing and captivating!

I love a good mystery novel with a twist and this book definitely delivers! I won’t say it is my favourite book of all time but it will grip you from beginning to end. So easy to read and lots of different angles, this book didn’t disappoint.

This was a fantastic book! I really really enjoyed it. It was full of plot twists that really threw my for a loop. This is one of those "I'll read just one more chapter..." books that will keep you up late reading if you let it. The characters are very well written. Between one character's diary entries and near complete silence in the present, and another's investigations into the murder, it is very pasted paced and punchy. Each character introduced through the investigation is made to seem suspicious and sometimes very creepy to throw you off the scent. It is a classic case of the unreliable narrator, and you yourself begins to question who to believe. This being said, there were occasionally things that can be seen as plot holes but they were never a deal breaker for me.

I believe this is Alex Michaelides first book. If so, I hope for many more. This book had fun twists and turns and I loved how it made you question how you felt about the main character, much like in Catherine Kepnes's You.
