Could not put it down. Straight forward accounts by those who were there. Maybe those who have never seen friends, not just die, but torn apart, won't appreciate what they are reading. Took me 38 years to even consider reading such accounts. I cried throughout both (The Assault On Khe Sanh) books.
Almost like you were there

I got this book based on some of the reviews i had seen here, and i wasn't disappointed. This compliation of the stories taken from the soldiers that were there is very touching view of what they experienced day by day. Life, death, luck, and no so good luck stories abound. Excellent reading that really made my heart beat fast, while saddening me many times. I highly recommend this book.
OUTSTANDING PLAY BY PLAY OF WHAT WAS GOING ON THERE

I have read many books about military history and about the war in Vietnam in particular. This is by far one of the most emotionally wrought and amazing books I have ever read. The tales from the marines own words are amazing. You are given a great insight into the amazing odds they were fighting, and their undaunted spirit and determination to survive and win.
