I picked up this book in a used book store and did not expect much-especially since I was unfamiliar with the writer. I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered that this book is a cut above. I could see how this book could easily have belonged in another genre, like a full length romantic suspense. The hero was unusual for a Harlequin in that he knew what he wanted and the reader, if not the heroine, was sure of his affections early on. The heorine was an educated woman of the world, so different from most Harlequin heroines who tend to be at the other end if the spectrum and is desparate need of rescuing. This book went off track a bit at the end-too much adventure and suspense-but not enough to stop it from being one of the better Harlequins I have read in a very long time.
