THE SEPTEMBER HOUSE by Carissa Orlando ‘Tis the season for a good haunted house story! I probably wouldn’t mind living in a haunted house so long as the ghosts and spirits were nice. Of course, that’s not always the case. Margaret is adamant about living in her dream Victorian home despite the multiple ghosts and ongoing spooky happenings (like bleeding walls?!) that culminate/escalate every September. Her husband Hal feels the exact opposite. So when he leaves she’s not too concerned. This was such a fun read. I loved Margaret’s dark/dry humor and the way she’s grown to love the various spirits around her. Her daughter, Catherine, wasn’t my favorite but This was well paced, well plotted and executed. It’s not scary, it’s more of a dark yet heartfelt thriller that would be a great choice for your next spooky season read. Note: The audiobook was done well and played out like a movie in my head. Fantastic narration by Kimberly Farr. Rating: 4.5/5 ⭐️

Worth the read funny and suspenseful

I really enjoyed this read! It was a really fun read full of horror and humor. The characters were well written and likable. Some twists and turns, would be great for a spooky season read.
