If You Liked The Macross Saga This Book Is A Must Read!

This book, which is actually a compilation of Robotech books 13 - 17 is a must for ANYONE who ever wondered about what happened to Rick Hunter, Lisa Hayes, Max & Miriya Sterling, & Lynn Minmei while all the confusion of the 2nd & 3rd Robotech Wars on Earth were being held. I absolutely love the Robotech franchise, I've been a huge fan since Harmony Gold first brought the cartoon state-side in 1985 and I started collecting everything with the name Robotech on it that I could get my hands on when I was 16, but the story of the Sentinals, which I first discovered in the pages of this book, is in my opinion far better the original Macross series. There is just alot more depth here and the action is alot more intense. So get the book already and when you're done with it try to find yourself a copy of "World Killers" (Sentinals Book #4) and "Rubicon" (The 5th and final book in the Sentinals sub-series.).

Three words: Read This Book.

Like Robotech? Like gripping science fiction? Like well-developed characters? Like science fiction writers who actually give decent attention to relationships? Read this book. Read all of the Sentinels books. Fast-paced, fascinating, engaging, page-turning science fiction. And if you're a Robotech fan to any degree, The Sentinels series is a must-read. Jack McKinney takes us on a wild and wooly ride alongside Rick, Lisa, Max, Miriya, Breetai, and all your favorites, along with memorable new characters as well. I can't say enough good things about this series.

Simply Awsome!

This is an excellent book(s) that take you back to the remaining original characters. It was very interesting to see how they arrived in Tirol space only to find that the Robotech Masters had already left for earth...It was great to find out what actually happend to them in the same time period as the Second Robotech War and Books # 4 and 5 in the Sentinels series were some of the best books out of this Saga. You learn a great deal about the protoculture in book #5. But this book set the scene for the liberation of the all the sentinel planets and its final stop to Optera and then onward to Earth...

exciting and informative

This story is based on the Sentinels video and the never completed Robotech 2 tv series. In these books one learns more about the Tirolian-Invid debacle which began the whole robotech saga. My only gripe was that the initial part of the Regent's invasion of Tiresia was pretty much glossed over.(I refer to what we saw in Robotech: The Sentinels movie) I would have liked a more desciptive account of the battle between the bioroids and the Invid forces. Still the book is great and features cool aliens from the Robotech Master's former empire as well as exotic locales. The Invid Regent is always good for a laugh and we are not subjected to Min Mei's tedium. What more can I say?

Thrilling!

This is a must-read for all Robotech fans. Not the usual plot of weary and reluctant fighters defending earth but an exciting story of fiery and battle-hardened campaigners, fighting for a noble cause - liberation of Invid occupied planets. Humans and XT's join forces to wage a war against the Invid (a first in this series!) to rid the Quadrant of the species entirely, with reasons, of course. I was given a tour of Tiresia, Zor's homeland, stood in front of the consoles in Zor's own laboratory, given a deeper understanding of Protoculture, experienced close encounters, live through VT dogfights, witnessed noble deaths, felt the joys and despairs of battle and everything else true to the name of 'Robotech'. What more could be asked for?
