WOW!

How could anyone not enjoy this book? From the moment I started reading, I could not put it down. Cutter Tate and Memphis Maynard will stay with you long after you're finished reading the book. I had to share it with all of my co-workers and they have all LOVED it as well. Its a very easy book to lose yourself in. Linda Anderson takes you on a wonderful adventure that leaves you wanting more!

Great blend of mystery & romance

This book contains a sensual romance along with a clever mystery. The author kept me guessing as she slowly unraveled "Sadie's secrets", and I especially appreciated the plot twists and surprise ending. A quick, satisfying read!

I thought the book was great and reminded me of home, wva

When I read this book it brought to mind of a murder in Logan County, WVa back in the thirties, I think. I believe that a blck man was convicted of that murder. I think she did an excellant job on writing this book.

love is hard to put into words, until now

Linda Anderson has done an excellent job of describing the one mystery in life everyone experiences. Love. In this particular novel, Anderson forms vivd, allusive pictures of the actual feelings love instills in all of us. I commend her for writing an end to a mystery.

Great historical mystery within a warm romantic intrigue

In 1936 mountains of West Virginia, Sadie Maynard was murdered and her boy never recovered. Amos Washington, a poor Black handyman, was convicted of the crime. However, most folks in the area believe that Macauley Tate actually committed the killing. Six decades later, the murder of Sadie Maynard has become part of national television due to the work of reporter Jake Bishop. He learned the story while making love to Sadie's granddaughter, internationally renownedphotojournalist Memphis Maynard and in between touring hot spots around the world, decided to write a series of books on unsolved crimes. Memphis, accompanied by her infant, arrives in the West Virginia hills to find the remains of her grandmother, whose ghost allegedly haunts the area and to prove that Macauley killed Sadie. She meets Macauley's grandson Cutter, who wants the story to go away. As she pursues the truth, Memphis and Cutter fall in love with one another. However, the truth is out there and that could end any permanent relationship between the duo. Make no secret that THE SECRETS OF SADIE MAYNARD is a fantastic romantic intrigue that will thrill readers of the sub-genre. The historical mystery adds depth to the modern sleuthing of the two reporters and their adversary Cutter. The gradual change from out right hostility and suspicion to love adds warmth and depth to the fantastic story line. With this novel and OVER THE MOON, Linda Anderson appears ready to reach the summit of the sub-genre.Harriet Klausner
