I first read TLC when I was about 16yrs old, I stupidly allowed someone to borrow it, and never saw it again. For years I always thought about it, then along came search engines and computers and voila I have another copy. I find this book lovely, it is light and easy to read with humour and some parts that curl your toes. I can read it over and over and have. Thank you Barbara for a great read.

A well-written, realistic story illustrating the growth of a deep and abiding love between two very complex and compassionate people. The wintery upstate New York setting is described in such vivid detail. This is one of my favorite Delinsky books (second only to Commitments). It is a completely satisfying read - well-drawn characters (sympathetic and complex) that evolve throughout the book, and a setting that is described in perfect detail. A real joy.
