The action hurtles from the enclosed doors of Washington and London to the battlefronts of Germany and Africa, to the intrigue of Lisbon and Morocco in this action-packed adventure. This description may be from another edition of this product.
Once again, through the eyes of his fictional characters, W.E.B. Griffin allows the reader to imagine what it must have been like for 'real' people to have lived through experiences like those of Donovan, Canidy et al. I couldn't put this book down!

Another work of art. Griffin has an uncanny ability to bring you into the story. I wouldn't put it down. I wish that it were longer. Griffin is by far the greatest author that I have ever read. I've read every book of every series except Men in Blue. I'm afraid to start that one. I might like it too much. Can't wait for the next one to come out.

Previously reading Griffin has help set the mind set of the reading his books. They intrique and are suspensful. I enoyed the fact of decrease romance in this book but the realism of how war effects both men and women. Keep up the supspense and I'll be a loyal follower.
A good read

I always look forward to a new book from WEB Griffin even as in this case, it isn't new. I have everything Mr. Griffin has written that I've been able to get my hands on since a friend turned me on to these fine stories several years ago. As with most of the books I enjoy, the main problem with them is that I have to wait so long for the next in whatever series the author has turned to this time. Please keep up the good work.
The "Last Heroes" saga continues...better than ever!

For W.E.B. Griffin fans who need a "fix" between new works, this series is a great discovery. The spectatular adventure of Wild Bill Donovan's "Hardy Boys" continues in the early 40's. The perfect balance of Griffin military fiction intermeshed with history makes this yet another non-stop read. As a female Griffin/Baldwin fan, I find this to be one of the best series discovered yet!
