When a motley cast of characters has the misfortune to intrude on Algernon Pendleton's secret world, he becomes embroiled in madness--and murder. A situation worthy of Saki . . . Grave matters, elegantly dispatched.--New York Times Book Review.
I read this book about thirty years ago and decided to reread it before sending the original copy back to the friend who had given it to me. It stands the test of time. This book takes you into the mind of a most unusual protagonist and continues to surprise from beginning to end. A treasure. A very different story but one that also transports the reader is In the Arms of Elders: A Parable of Wise Leadership and Community Building
An unusual, yet captivating, piece of literature

This book concerns the life of a man that few would term ordinary. However, Greenan, a little-known but heavily talented author, makes the tale not only believable, but also touching, humorous and sometimes shocking in its unrealistic reality. This is definitely one worth reading. I have shared it with all of my friends and would be reading more of his work, but sadly, it is hard to find.
