A wonderful, haunting book

I too read this book over 20 years ago and it is my #1 favorite book. It is one of the few books I have read that after all of these years remains with me. It was a wonderful, haunting story which pulled you in immediately and carried you through every possible emotion. I hope at some time they reissue this book. It is one that shouldn't be lost. If you can find it, please don't miss it!

Realistic Native American Romance

I read this book last year. It is as powerful today as it was 20 years ago. Having read numerous Native American books, I found Nokoa's Woman, spiritualy sensitive to the Native American's history. She Provided a touching, poetic, romantic story. This book was presented in an easy to read format, yet provided all the details necessary to understand the diffculty between the love of a Native American and a New American. I could not put this book down, I had to read it in one sitting. The intence ending was an inspired surprise which left me conteplating this story for days. I would love a copy of this powerful book to share with my family. Gayle Rogers has become one of my favorite authors. I do hope there will be a sequal to this book.

The most haunting love story I have ever read.

I read this book over twenty years ago and I still remember the mental images it brought forth in my mind. I cried for days afterwards. Everyone I recommended it to was similarly touched. It's romantic, poetic, spiritual and almost surreal in its power to draw you into the story. I've loved it for over twenty years.

The best romance novel I have ever read

After reading all these reviews, it is obvious that this story has touched everyone in the same manner. I happened upon the book and after reading it I had to OWN a copy - which I have to this day. I too have re-read the book several times and find myself going back every few years to relive the touching story. I would love to see a sequel!

A story you never forget.

I was surprised to look at the reviews of this story and see that everyone has the same feelings I do. I read this book in the 1970's and have never forgotten the passion, nor the ending. I couldn't decide how it ended either. The choices were optimistic or pessimistic. I like the optomistic ending best. They need to bring this book back. I just lent out my copy to a friend to read. I was hoping she could tell me what I missed. I see now that I didn't miss anything.
