It's been said before and still needs to be said again.

This book shouldn't be out of print -- it is probably more relevant today than it was in '86.
WIU student who sees through "Richard Crocket"

Five stars is not really a rating. I just couldn't post a comment without assigning a rating first. I just wanted to note that the "review" from "Richard Crocket" is not a real review. First, the professor emeritus used to spell his surname with 2 T's, and I doubt that he would drop one of them now that he has retired. Secondly, the retired prof lived in Monmouth, IL, not Macomb, though Macomb is home of Western Illinois University. It's obvious that the author of the "review" had some differences of opinion with Dr. Crockett, but s/he shouldn't take it out on the Downs and Larkey book. I have to read it for one of my classes at good old WIU, and I was just looking for a second opinion, but I think no opinion would have been better than this so-called "review."
