Check it out in the library before deciding to buy

It is a useful book, Bradley Bayou gets to the point he promised in the title. First, he makes you evaluate your shape - useful exercise, then he refers you to the pages with the advice for your particular body shape. I am on the border of two body shapes, so I checked style advice for the two shapes - as I get slimmer I belong to one, and as I gain weight I belong to another. I also checked the style advice in case I gain more weight - after having a baby, for example. I couldn't help looking for style advice for other body shapes - to see if my mom, sister and cousins would benefit from the suggestions and I even made notes in case they ask. The unifying theme for the advice - is to get proportions seem right. This is quite intuitive, but it helps to clarify and develop the idea, because the authors went to the details I have never had thought of. If you think you would stay the same size all your life long and if your friends are not asking your advice for their style- it'd be enough to go through the few pages devoted to your particular body shape.

Every women's MUST HAVE !

This book is definitely a must-have for every woman. From here, you will be able to correctly define your body shape and size: 1) measure your shoulder, bust, waist, hip (it teaches you to do so correctly) to calculate your proportions and define your SHAPE. You will find out whether you are a Triangle, Inverted Triangle, Rectangle or Hourglass; 2) use the relationship between your height and weight to define whether you are slender, average, plus or double plus; 3) then your height alone to define if you are petite, tall or something in between. Once you know all of the above, then you will be invited into your particular dressing room (there're 48 of them in the book) and find out exactly what types of tops, skirts, pants, dreses, jackets, coats, shoes and accessories are most flattering on you, as well as what you shoud avoid. It also identifies a celebrity for each fitting room for your reference. There are only 4 pages devoted to each fitting room (body shape), but there is so much useful information and it is almost all you need to build your entire wardrobe! These 4 pages of information is invaluable! You can always use the information in the other fitting rooms to help the ones you care, like your best friends, your mother, your sisters, your daughers etc... The book aslo gives other advice on: 1) the fundamental pieces in your wardrobe; 2) answer a few questions in order to define your style of sexy; 3) the Dress Sexy Ten Commandments: the rules that apply to every women, all shapes and sizes (here you will also find out about how to tell if a piece is well made and good quality). Excellent source of information for all figure types

As a women's clothing retailer, I found this book to be "coffee table material" in my shop. I leave a tape measure on the book to invite women to investigate the contents. So many women have difficulty selecting the right clothing for their figure types. This book offers the best visual and written information that is easily understood and appreciated. Bravo to the writers. I have a library full of books on the subject and have never seen one that is so informative, well written and assists all figure types and personalities.

A very helpful book

I am a professional dressmaker and I have found this book so useful for both me and for my customers! The suggestions are right on the money for every one of the figure types and very specific. If you want to know how you should be dressing to best flatter your figure, this is the book for you.

Who needs another book - wonderful

Well, who would want another book, and why? I read my section, but then I read all the sections on my height to see why something would work for one type but not the other. Actually found the entire book helpful. Great for when buying gifts for a friend or family member...look them up in the book. I like the notation for each figure type for "your celebrity body stand-in". You can read and read, but seeing is believing, that you too can just do it.
