Describes the history, modern and traditional cultural practices and economies, geographic background, and ongoing oppression and struggles of the Sami. This description may be from another edition of this product.
A good basic introduction to the life of the Sami people, this is appropriate for any age group, and would be a good educational tool to be included when children are being taught about native (indigineous)cultures. This was one of the earliest native cultures, and has many implications for us even at the present time.Since recently learning that I have unexpected genetic roots in this culture I have been actively educating myself about my "roots".
Excellent

This is an excellent book, if brief. It's intended for children, but the images and writing are useful to adults, as well; especially considering the small number of books available on the subject.
