A practical approach to handshaking and serial connection

Mr. Campbell provides a very clear explanation why serial devices do and don't work together and how to determine what to do to make them work together. The case studies are functional and his "grabber" has to be the most used piece of test equipment in my tool box.The only real downside is the nearly ten years since it was written. Some information may not apply to the new RS232D "standard".
