This book offered a slightly different approach to some verses in I Corinthians than other books and commentaries have offered. I enjoyed the KJV passages and the Pastor's use of examples in contemporary times. It was difficult for some in the Bible study in which we used it; those found the book to be "too dry." I found it to be more than sufficient for a study into the unique difficulties experienced by the Corinthian church.
A Marvelous Commentary, First Corinthians, KJV Based

Who is Alan Redpath ? ... Well this Pastor is a guy I stumbled across by accident and I am glad I did. It seems like commentaries done by guys from the past are slowly disappearing or being revised using the NIV as the biblical text. His books are hard to find and when you search for them through the internet book dealers they are easily picked up by buyers... especially E-bay or Bookfinder.com This commentary is based on the KJV texts. References based on the KJV... will they be a memory in a few years or more...hmm. To tell you what I think about this gem would be an injustice, because it is very good period, but on the other hand reading your bible along with Redpath, no matter what translation you have would be enlightening. This is a guy that is overlooked by the lay person when looking for a commentary. This man named REDPATH... well let me just say this I would not pass up any of his books. I also recommend BLESSINGS OUT OF BUFFETINGS, 2 CORINTHIANS and the others published by him.Redpath, Redpath, Redpath... What a good find... You will not be sorry in getting a copy if you can find it.Tripp
