Roswell very well debunked. A money making hoax for many...

The author systematically examines just about every detail of the lunacy of Roswell. Yes lunacy, not legacy. The bottom line after you read the book is a confident feeling that the military compartmentalized so much of the information that no one person really knew what the heck they were doing and simply kept passing rumors around for months and years. Even the scientists that performed the RADAR experiments did not know that they could talk about their work until over forty years had past. The writing style of this author is good for the type of work this book is. It is not a sensational paper treat for those are desperately wanting to be believers. After all the work this man did for this book he deserves to write with an authoritarian style. Many people have written book after book on the incident without presenting anything but individual personal opinions and third party rumors. They make great money doing this. Philip Corso's book The Day After Roswell is the worst. Everything in the book is a complete hoax that does not stand up to any examination whatsoever. Corso wrote it because he needed money and knew he could make thousands of not millions by playing into the people that love to believe that a UFO complete with aliens did land there and provide so many goodies. It is a perfect con for a science fiction writer. After you read this book you can forget about Roswell. It is a cute little town in New Mexico with friendly people. I have been there. I bought a T-Shirt with an "alien" on it just for fun. I once wore the shirt while shopping at our local grocery store. Two people were hiding behind the soup cans and pointing to me and whispering to each other. Some people are so impressionable that it is quite laughable. Nothing happened there in 1947 except for an Army Captain doing his best to make something out of nothing but a radar reflecting balloon and so profit from the incident. Kal Korff does a good job, and I am very comfortable recommending this book if you really want to know the truth. If you don't, do not buy the book.

is the truth really out there?

I, like many others, had always thought there was something to the Roswell incident (though there were always troubling questions). Korff, while positing himself as a believer, has effectively demolished the entire incident. I would be interested in knowing what defenders of the incident have to say about this book, especially Kevin Randle, who takes a few hits here.

Interesting and well researched

This book thoroughly debunks the Roswell UFO legend. I can't imagine how anyone could read this book and continue to believe in the myths that surround Roswell. The book is well researched and organized. Unlike many of the books about UFOs the author lists all of his sources of information. The author does tend to overuse exclaimation points, and this can be annoying, but overall it is well written and easy to read. My only criticism is that the book's cover would lead one to believe that the book supports the govenment cover-up theory. This was probably a marketing decision because books about UFOs and government conspiracies tend to sell rather well. Factual books that try to dispel such things usually don't. Whether you're a skeptic or believer, if you have an interest in UFOs or Roswell, you should read this book.

"And he huffed, and he puffed, and he blew Hangar 18 in..."

The definitive book on Roswell. Over a year ago I leafed through it in a bookstore but slammed the covers shut. I also shut my eyes and ears. I just didn't want to hear it. I WANTED to believe in the Roswell case. Now, after reading it cover to cover, I can say with near-certainty that anyone who reads this book and STILL believes that an alien spacecraft crashed in New Mexico in 1947 is wrong

Yes, there was a cover-up !

By the so called "ufologists," actually. It is really difficult to take one seriously when one doesn't take his job seriously. And that is the problem with "ufologists." Every claim that fits their scheme is valid, and they go unchecked. Hearsay becomes the truth, if it complies with their beliefs. It looks just like another sect. This book uses the very material provided by the believers to show the incongruences of their stories. It doesn't try to prove if Roswell's UFO crash happened or not. Mostly, it checks the "evidence" provided and when it gets scrutinized, little remains. In order to do this, the author verifies basic documentation (which, of course, believers didn't look for) to prove some "witnesses" can't be trusted. The author hardly expresses his opinions, he presents information hidden by UFO fanatics and the truth is obvious.A great book, but not a fun one. If you are up to fantasies, don't read this one. Go see some Hollywood movie or read a book that makes up a Roswell case. (By the way, in my opinion aliens may be visiting our planet, but it's got to be proven by serious people)
