I am 36 years old and now have a child of my own who is 1. You tend to get sentimental when you are a new parent (or at least that is my experience), especially when it comes to picking out toys and books. I haven't seen this book in 25 years, but I described it to my mother and she luckily remembered the title. I had to laugh when I found it in the library of congress catalog with a print date of 1970 ... the year I was born. So maybe it is not a "classic" like the ones I recognize in the book store, but it was one of my favorites. It made enough impression on me to remember it 25 years later. I hope my son will enjoy it as much as I did.
