Outstanding beginning of a series!

What a find this was! I won't repeat the plot line like several others. Rather, I'll say that this first novel caused me to rush to my computer to buy all 4 that have been released and to pre-order the one releasing in January! Parshall does a fine job with characterization, creating 3-D likeable characters. Attorney Will Chambers struggles with internal and external forces to get his life and career back on track. We end up with a close study of the man plus an intriguing plot and some great courtroom dialog. I have now read all 4 of the Will Chambers books and can't wait for the next one. They have each been unique and exciting to read...enough action to keep you up late because you just have to find out what will happen. This author is a treasure. The added prize is the deep spirituality of his Christian message. There is something (and most likely everything) to delight all readers in this book and in all his books.

Awesome stuff!

This was my first Craig Parshall read, awesome stuff! Instantly you find yourself pulling for Angus MacCameron, and more importantly, the truth! Will Chambers has the attitude that gives you the will to smile at times, and then there's times where I couldn't help but feel sorry for him. But you can see the wheels turning through his head as well. This is the first of a 4 book series, so I'll certainly be reading more of Mr. Parshall in the future! Angus MacCameron is being sued for defamation of character of a well respected professor, and he turns to Will Chambers, an alcoholic lawyer for help. I like how early on, Angus compares the Christian walk as to a coliseum, "Will you be standing with the Christians, down in the blood and sand, when the lions come charging-or will you be with the pagans, cheering up in the stands?" I can easily see Sean Connery playing an Angus MacCameron. That poses an awesome question that each of us have to answer one day. This was more than just a courtroom thriller, it was more than a mystery. Well worth the read!

John Grisham fans will love this author!

Will Chambers is a down - trodden, alcholic attorney whose life has been in a downward spiral since even before his estranged, yet beloved wife's murder. Now, he finds himself kicked out of his firm, abandoned by his friends and associates, and with two clients left; a deadbeat and a pastor with a case that is, kindly stated, strange.Reverend MacCameron is the defendant in a defamation case, having published an article attacking a recent archaelogical discovery that, if true, would render Christianity a sham. It is Will's job to not only save his client's reputation, but also to defend the truth of Christ's rising from the dead. Since Will is an agnostic, this will be a challenge. Will finds that he is facing the powers of darkness, and that those forces are reaching out to destroy him as well as his clients. At the same time, the world itself teeters on extinction as terrorists mobilize weapons of mass destruction.*... In a novel that reaches out to fans of Grisham, the LEFT BEHIND series, and Indianna Jones, Mr. Parshall begins what looks to be a groundbreaking and promising series. Will is a hero that will be easily sympathized with by the legions of less than perfect readers who might be tired of "perfect" heroes and heroines. The action is absorbing, whether legal or historical, and the reader will come away with renewed faith and also with a greater knowledge than he or she had before the book. *... The best novel I've read in 20 years!

The Resurrection File is one of the most outstanding pieces of modern Christian writing in a very long time. It is intelligent and thought provoking and worthy of the time it takes to read the almost 400 pages in this book.Craig Parshall has masterfully written about the spiritual journey of attorney Will Chambers, without fluffing it up and making it sappy. He has cleverly depicted the power of prayer and the influence of Christians without shoving it down your throat. He has also depicted a stereotype in the minister - he pulls no punches when it comes to depicting a Christian character as a sort of 'nut', but yet he does it with respect. One of my favorite things about the book is how attorney Parshall integrates information about the law - without talking over your head, you will notice the strategy lawyers use when preparing the case. For that reason alone, the book is a must read - because you might just find yourself loving lawyers again! But the story in the book is so compelling and true to life that if you are aware of our culture, the liberal media and how those who are against Christ try to twist and turn those who are in Christ, then you will appreciate the wisdom that Parshall has used in this book. He integrates terrorism, science, Israel, the battle between Islam and Christianity and a lot of heart in the book.Other characters in the story include Tiny, Chambers friend, the Reverend's daughter and mother and a few helping hands along the way - and of course his dog.I can tell you this, the ending is not what you will be expecting and I can say the butler did not do it!Get the book today and finish it. If you're anything like me, it will make you laugh, cry and think all the way through.

The best novel I've read in 20 years!

Craig Parshall has given me a reason to read novels again! What a wonderful book, filled with mystery, suspense, laughter, pain, lies and truth. If you think this is going to be another typical fluffy "Christian" book, then think again. Parshall writes an extremely intelligent piece, that will literally keep you on the edge of your seat. The main character, Will Chambers, will grab your heart and champion your soul. If you struggle with truth and who Jesus is, then you will feel very comfortable with Will. The best part about this character, who just happens to be a lawyer, is that you just may feel the need to trust attorneys again! Will is an honest, ethical and open minded man and is interested in the facts. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.Other characters in the novel, Reverend MacCameron, his daughter, wife and Tiny, Chambers best friend, will keep you humored, concerned and reading the book. One thing I should say is that this book is not your typical apologetic on the Christian faith. Really, I found it more of an apologetic on worldview. The Parshalls have written two other books on that very subject. Tough Faith, and The Light in the City. While both of those books are good, The Resurrection File is GREAT!Parshall weaves current events, including the recent attack on New York, terrorism, the battle between Islam and Christianity and government secrets into the plot. If you are into politics, religion, truth, justice and the American way then this book is for you.Give it away as a gift and read it yourself. You will not be disappointed!
