Phantom Stallion is a Great Series!!

I have read the first thirteen of the Phantom Stallion series, and The Renegade is one of my favorites. Like all the Phantom Stallion books, a lot of different story lines are presented throughout the book. You get to know not only the human characters, but also the horses, each of which have their own personality as well. I highly recommend the Phantom Stallion series for any horse lover!

Typical troubles of young girls, and Wild Horses!

This is a fun story about a young girl who has befriended a wild stallion. This was the fourth book in a series, but the only one I've read. It is well written. I recognized that there was background information in the other stories, but the story was self contained enough to stand on its own. The young girl, Sam, struggles with fairly normal teenage stuff. She struggles with algebra and other school subjects. Sam has to deal with a snotty rich girl who is very self-centered and hardly thinks of anyone else. Sam's family is working hard to keep their ranch. Connecting all these pieces is Sam's love for a mustang, "The Phantom Stallion." There is a woman in town who supplies animals to rodeos. Sam is worried that the woman may illegally try to capture the wild stallion, and Sam tries to protect the mustang. This is a good story for young children. One of my daughters found the series and has read every book she could get her hands on, and several of the books she had read more than once. If you have a child who loves horses, this is a good book to get.

a mustang in a bad deal

Karla Starr comes to town and Sam's world is turned upside down!Karla wants to buy mustangs from local ranchers and sam's dad isn't giving any up. When Slocum sells his bull Maniac and Sam see the Phantoms herd without him she knows that somthings going on.Things get stranger as the book goes on and if sam doesnt do something fast she may never see him again.Once again Sam is fighting for her stallion's freedom... ...and his life. She then tries to track down Karla Starr at all different rodoes in a way that could send her on a wild goose chase. but one night jake's family shows sam's family and their workers a video tape. What does it show? read to know. does sam find the Phantom? Read to find out. to answer all your questions, READ THE BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Once more you'll be wound into a book in this series! You won't want to stop reading once you start! i highly reccamend that you read this book. Correction... ... ... ...... ... ... ...read this book as soon as possible of you can!!!!

The best book in The Phantom Stallion series!!!

This book is great! I loooved it. It has a lot of supspense and emotion. The Phantom gets into trouble in this book and Sam is there to help him. He is put in a rodeo and is drugged to make him perform. This part in the book was very emotional to me. I highly reccomend this book. It's the best out of the series so far.

The Renegade

Sam seems to be good at getting into trouble, lately, and into situations she doesn't like. The Phantom seems to be appearing in places he shouldn't be, and the ranch is tight on money, a constant supply of worry for Dad and Gram. Then Jake has an accident, and the Phantom goes missing. Sam thinks that Karla Starr, the low-life rodeo contractor who doesn't play by the rules, has stolen him, but she has no proof. This was yet another excellent book in the Phantom Stallion series!! There was not much of Jake and his cleverness after the accident, but there was lots of action to make up for it, and humor and emotion, and even some sadness. All in all, excellent. Can't wait for the next one!
