A reprint of an old sergeant's drill manual

This book contains Jacob De Gheyn's (1565-1629) engravings covering the drills of three different weapons: caliver (a light smooth-bore gun), musket (a heavy smooth-bore gun), and pike (a 4-5 m long spear). For each weapon De Gheyn gives pictures of each step of their official drill. This book is for a very specialized audience. Apart from a two-page introduction it doesn't have anything other than the woodcuts. If you are looking for an indepth insight on warfare in the 30-Year War era, this is not the right book. However, if you are interested in high-quality pictures of the 17th century soldiers brandishing their weapons, then this is the right book.
