Really awful

Bought this book 3 months ago and still can't finish it. Heroine is boring and is supposed to be intelligent but there is no evidence of that in the thin plot. The amount of space in the book describing everybody lusting after Miss F. gets really annoying.

Minda's Magical!!!

I NEVER write reviews, however for this author I have written one on each of her books. Her books are transcending, they take you to a place where...well, keep that thought and read her books! I can assure you, you will not be disappointed.

Hilariously Funny!

Minda Webber will take you on a fun and zany ride with a character of a famous classical fictional story, and twist them so you are just cracking up. She'll make fun of cliches and you'll keep wanting more. Read this series, you won't regret it!

The Remarkable Miss Frankenstein is Right!

This was great fun to read, though it may not be for everyone, I'd still say give it a try, it's not that bad...honestly. I don't know why some people are all up in arms about the historical inaccuracies; didn't they read the author's note? It states: "I have taken certain liberties with many historical facts and literary characters, making this all definitely all fiction. Please forgive me but I couldn't resist. To twist Mark Twain's famous quote on his The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn: `Persons attempting to find sense in this narrative will be prosecuted; persons attempting to find a moral in it will be banished; persons attempting to find historical accuracy in it will be shot.'" Now if you cannot stand historical inaccuracies in any way, even intentional, I'd stay away from the book. But if you are looking for a light, fluffy, fun, punny, and extremely entertaining book, I'd snag this book up right away! While I probably missed plenty of Beatle's songs since I'm from a younger generation and don't know them all; I noticed a lot of other things. There was Durlock Homes and Dr. Whutson, E.A. Poe, contemporary slang, and loads more, but I don't want to give anymore of them away. More fun to read them in the book! I loved that the monster had a name and he was part of the family! The only thing that annoyed me were all the references to Clair's chest and Ian's reactions to them, got to be too much, but I'm glad to say that that slacked off towards the end. I'm happy to know that Jane Van Helsing is getting her own book (The Reluctant Miss Van Helsing) and I can't wait to read that (wonder if it has Asher in it!)! All in all, this was a fun book with great characters and I loved both Clair and Ian, especially Clair, she was great! The chapter titles were quite amusing too. I highly recommend this book!

great book...

i really enjoyed reading this book,,,i thought it was well writen,,,and fun to read,,,i recommend this book to everyone!!

I loved it.

You know, when I read a book I want to be transported to a different place. A place where the laws of nature and rational thought don't necessarily belong. This book took me there. Clair is an intelligent, independent woman in a time when those character attributes in a woman weren't appreciated. She has a passion and dedication to her science that no one, with the exception of her eccentric family can appreciate. That is until she meets Ian. He alone seems to be able to tolerate her search for the "truth at all costs". You find out later of course that he has a very important reason for keeping her close. What he doesn't realize of course is that he will fall totally in love with her. There are a lot of historical inconsistencies in this book. That did not bother me one bit. The author took the best bits of history and literature and made them her own. It was a charming and adorable story. A refreshing change of pace from the heavy handed sexual paranormal read. Not that there is anything wrong with that. I heartily recommend this book.
