God passionately seeks after human hearts, guiding us through spiritual hunger and invading our lives for the purpose of making us holy. In The Relentless God, Cecil Murphey invites readers to enter into a new and powerful understanding of divine encounter through the lives of New Testament characters, through contemporary illustrations, and through vulnerable personal experience. Tremendous book. Better than the best of Lucado. Engulfs the reader with the presence of God as He is reminded of how God has pursued him.

A reminder that God will not stop trying to bring His children to Him. Readers will see themselves reflected in the stories Cecil brings to life. Highly recommended.
Wanting to move forward with God

I've read many books by Cecil Murphey, and love every one, but this is my favorite. For those who want to move forward with God, Cecil Murphey's willingness to be vulnerable will model what that could look like. He combines powerful insights into Bible stories with anecdotes from his own life to point me to a God who loves me and yearns for a relationship with me.
Very easy and pleasant read!

I was fooled by this book initially. And then I woke up and realized the concept. We think we have "found" God, when all along he has been relentlessly pursuing us--never giving up, never letting go. We cannot break from his tender, loving grasp unless we totally look the other way. Cecil Murphey, who has ghost-written over 80 books, is now speaking to us without the blanket of another name. His writing style is very simple and straightforward and within the first few pages you realize that if you met him in person, that you could sit down and talk about his experiences and his own faith. He relays in anecdotal format his own adventure as a missionary and also those of acquaintances who have known the patience of a God whose love that has no end. This is a very easy and pleasant read with insights that come to you long after the last page has been turned.--- reviewed by Robin Rider for Christian Bookshelf
God Won't Let You Go...

... that's the overwhelming lesson Cec Murphey wants us to learn. No matter how far we think we've fallen away from God, Murphey beautifully illustrates that God relentlessly pursues us with his love, forgiveness and grace. The book is simply written yet profoundly deep. In it, Murphey looks at the lives of Jesus' disciples, and writes about his own life with candor that will challenge the reader's theology on grace and acceptance. By the end of the book, the reader will see that, no matter the circumstances, God chases after each of us until we run back into his arms of love. This book is a must read for anyone who struggles with a performance-driven life, or for those who want to understand God in an infinitely deeper way.
